Nigeria hold Brazil on day three

AMSTERDAM (GoPharaohs.com) – African champions Nigeria held mighty Brazil to a scoreless draw as Africa remained winless at the FIFA World Youth Championship.
Billed as the marquee match of the day, it instead turned out to be the only match of the competition to this point that failed to produce a goal.
The other Group F tie saw Switzerland net two goals in a five-minute span to see-off Korea 2-1 and top the standings.
In Group E, a goalkeeping blunder allowed Syria to take the lead over Canada, just three minutes into their match in Tilburg. Majed Al-Haj’s quick score was cancled out by a Jamie Peters header a half hour later though as the two teams end up sharing the spoils.
Colombia pulled off a mild upset by beating Italy 2-0, also in Group F.
The teams will use Monday to rest before resuming action with six matches the following day.
Egypt and/or Argentina will pick up their first points when they meet, while the US and Germany will each look to book their places in the second round when they clash in the other Group D match.
China will face Ukraine while Panama battles Turkey in Group B.
Morocco hope Honduras will be an easy proposition, as the Central Americans fell 7-0 to Chile in their first match. The other Group C match pits defending champions Spain against Chile.
