Al-Ahly in striker dilemma

CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - Egyptian defending champions Al Ahly have recently completed the signing of Ismaily defender Mohamed Abdullah and Tersana midfielder Amro Samaka, and are looking to add one more player to their 2005-2006 roster. However, this is proving to be a real headache for the Cairo club officials.
Over the past few days, Alfredo, a Nigerian striker, and Ahmed El Mosly, the Libyan national team striker, have been training vigorously with the team in an attempt to win the satisfaction of coach Manuel Jose. El Mosly almost signed for the Red Devils last year if it were not for a back injury that resulted in his medical failure. This year, the Libyan striker comes with yet another surprise; if he were to sign, El Mosly is not eligible to play for Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League due to his participation with Ittihad in the preliminary rounds. However, Al Ahly are keen on strengthening their squad for the competition in order to win a ticket to Japan for next years World Club Championship.
Reports from Cairo suggest that Alfredo’s performance in training has been interesting and the fact that he is eligible for the CAF Champions League gives him an edge over the Libyan. It is yet unclear who is Jose’s favourite. The team is set to play a friendly against Alexandria’s Coast Gaurds on Tuesday and both players will feature in red. This match will decide the outcome of the competition between Alfredo and El Mosly.
