Egypt’s youth win North African Confed Cup

ISMAILIA (GoPharaohs.com) - Egypt’s U-19 youth team won the North African Confederations Cup on Saturday in Ismailia after drawing with their Tunisian counterpart 1-1 while Morocco defeated Libya 1-0. These results put Egypt on top of the group with 8 points and a goal difference advantage over Morocco who also have 8 points and ended up in second place. Tunisia claimed the third position with 6 points. Algeria was fourth with 4 points while Libya was in fifth with no points.

After the successful conclusion of this tournament, the U-19 team is waiting for their Gambian counterpart to respond to their request for a friendly in Cairo. This comes in preparation for the U-19 African Cup of Nations to be held in Congo on January 21st, 2007.
