Late Gaafar goal provides Zamalek with much-needed win
CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - In an exciting Egyptian Premier League postponed week 12 matchup, Mostafa Gaafar gave the Cairo giant a much-needed beacon of hope when he scored a last-minute goal to put Zamalek up 3-2 against their guests Haras Al-Hodoud.
Tarek El-Sayed and Youssef Hamdy put Zamalek up to a comfortable 2-0 lead by scoring in the 27th and 32nd minutes of the first half. The lead was cut down to one only five minutes later when Mohamed Halim scored for Al-Haras. Late in the second half, Hany Saeed scored the equalizer. Before the match ended in what would have been another dissappointing result for the White Fortress, Mostafa Gaafar scored in the last minute.
The much-needed goal not only gives Zamalek an important three points to give them a total of 29, but it was also a critical moral booster for the team ahead of their most important league match for this half of the season against arch rivals Al-Ahly.
