Masry defeats Zamalek 2-0

December 15, 2006

PORT SAID (GoPharaohs.com) - Masry took 3 crucial points away from Zamalek on Friday in their Egyptian Premier League week 15 matchup. Zamalek remain in third place with 26 points tied with Mokawloon and Ghazl El-Mahala but they still have 2 postponed games to play.

The result can be attributed to Zamalek’s poor performance in converting in front of the goal as well as Masry’s efficiency in their counter attacks. Zamalek head coach Cajuda attempted to strengthen the offense by substituting in Amr Zaki for Mostapha Gaafar in the second half but to no avail. Masry made it even harder for Zamalek to make a comeback with an early second half goal in the 47th minute by Ashour Al-Adham.

Zamalek trail Al-Ahly, who hold the second place spot with 29 points and 4 postponed games (including their week 15 game against Ismaily). Ismaily hold the first place position with 31 points and one postponed game (the week 15 game against Al-Ahly).
