Petrojet defeats Enppi 2-1

SUEZ (GoPharaohs.com) - Petrojet came from behind to defeat Enppi 2-1 in their Egyptian Premier League week 14 game at Suez Stadium in Petrojet’s home city of Suez Thursday afternoon. With this result, Petrojet now has 22 points and Enppi remains with 15.

From the very start of the match Petrojet used offensive pressure in an attempt to score early, while maintaining defensive balance. Enppi on the other hand tried to slow the pace down to try to disrupt the offensive wave coming from their opponents. As the first half was nearing its end, Enppi managed to score a goal by Ahmed Abd El-Zaher in the 40th minute.

In the second half, Petrojet took control of the midfield and held on to the ball more. The equalizer came in the 54th minute by their Ivorian striker, Zeka Goory. The match continued with both teams exchanging posession but none of the attempts from either side resulted in any goals up until the very end of the game in the 87th minute. Petrojet’s Ahmed Abd El-Ghani scored the much needed winning goal for his team.

In other local soccer action, Aluminium defeated Souhag 1-0 in their Egyptian Cup preliminary match. Aluminium scored in the 7th minute of the second half of extra time. As a result, Aluminium now have a spot in the round of 32.
