Ahly, Zamalek & Ismaily aquire new players
CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - The top three contenders of the Egyptian Premier League title aquired some new players before the winter transfer window ends. Ismaily aquired Alaa Yassin from first division club Bani Sweif, Zamalek aquired Wessam El-Abdi from Sfaxien of Tunisia and Al-Ahly aquired Ahmed Adel from Olympic.
Alaa Yassin to Ismaily
Ismaily brokered a deal with Bani Sweif for their defender Alaa Yassin, 26, to join Ismaily’s lineup for 5 seasons starting from the 2007/2008 season and ending in 2011. Yassin will be Ahmed Fathy’s replacement when he leaves for Sheffield United this month. Sheffield United aquired Fathy for 700,000 Sterling.
Wessam El-Abdi to Zamalek
Zamalek aquired Wessam El-Abdi for 600,000 USD from Sfaxien of Tunisia. The defender’s salary was not disclosed, however. Zamalek will pay Sfaxien the total sum over 4 payments. This aquisition is an attempt by the Zamalek board to provide the necessary resources for the team to continue to succeed. Zamalek had recently added Henri Michel to coach the team.
Ahmed Adel to Al-Ahly
Olympic defender Ahmed Adel signed a contract with Al-Ahly for 3 seasons. Olympic will receive 1.5 million LE for the transfer. Adel’s salary was not disclosed. Adel will join Al-Ahly’s training after Al-Ahly’s game with Asyut Petroleum which is scheduled for tomorrow.
