Egypt’s Olympic team to play against South Africa

DOHA (GoPharaohs.com) - Egypt’s Olympic team will play against their South African counterpart today in the semi-final round of the Friendship Tournament for Olympic teams hosted by Qatar. Belarus is scheduled to play against Qatar in the other semi-final match.

Under the leadership of Portugese head coach Eduardo “Nelo” Vingada, Egypt defeated both Belarus and Bahrain 2-0 to reach the semi-finals. South Africa defeated Japan 1-0, drew with UAE 1-1 and lost to Qatar 0-1. Egypt is participating in this tournament in preparation for the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing.
