Galal hattrick takes Ahly to Egyptian Cup round of 16

CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - Ahmed Galal scored all three of Al-Ahly’s goals against Talkha Electric in their 3-0 victory Saturday evening at Cairo International Stadium. As a result Al-Ahly advances to the round of 16 of the Egyptian Cup. Galal scored in the 7th, 32nd and 42nd minute of the second half.

Hossam El-Badry, Al-Ahly’s general trainer, led the team to victory in the abscence of head coach Manuel Jose, who is in Portugal on vacation. El-Badry utilized most of Al-Ahly’s bench and gave rest to the usual starters some of whom have injuries while others take a rest from Al-Ahly’s long stretch of matches without a break.

Galal, who started on the bench in this match, came in for Osama Hosney who exited due to injury and ended up being the star of the game. Galal is not in Al-Ahly’s African lineup and may be leaving Al-Ahly soon for other opportunities.
