Mido scores, Ghaly excels as Spurs defeat Southend
LONDON (GoPharaohs.com) - In the fourth round of the FA Cup, Ahmed Hossam “Mido” scored the third goal in his team’s 3-1 victory over Southend on Saturday night. Hossam Ghaly was also in the starting lineup and played a good game.
Mido injury
Martin Jol reported that Mido was withdrawn late in Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round win against Southend with a back problem. However, Martin said afterwards that he was ‘hopeful’ the striker will be fit for Wednesday night’s Carling Cup semi-final, second leg against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The Egyptian striker marked his first start for over a month with his first goal since October, sliding in to flick home Aaron Lennon’s cross at the near post for the crucial third in the 3-1 win. (source: Spurs official website)
