Sheffield United downsize Fathy offer
ISMAILIA (GoPharaohs.com) - After what almost seemed to be a done deal a few weeks ago, English club Sheffield United backpedaled on their initial offer to aquire Ismaily player Ahmed Fathy for 1 million Sterling.
Ismaily club president Rizq Tameemy told the press on Monday that the Sheffield United sent a memo to Ismaily indicating their desire to reduce the offer amount to 700,000 Sterling. This presents a stumbling block in the transfer process, according to Tameemy, since this came as a surprise to Ismaily officials.
Fathy has just recently returned from the club trials and medical examinations both of which he passed quite satisfactorily to the English side’s expectations. Fathy personally indicated that he wanted the transfer to happen even after this reduced offer from Sheffield United. A compromise could be devised where he could transfer temporarily for a 6 month period to play with the club in the second half of the English premiership.
