Zamalek decimate Burundi champs 4-1

CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - Zamalek continued to rebound from a performance slump and put another victory under their belt against Burundi’s champions Vital’O in their first-leg encounter of the preliminary round of the African Champions League on Sunday.

Amr Zaki scored the opener only 3 minutes into the game to give Zamalek the advantage from the get-go. Zamalek star Hazem Emam put on a good performance throughout the match and managed to score in the 42nd minute of the first half. A never-resting Mostafa Gaafar scored Zamalek’s third goal in the 27th minute of the second half while Tarek El-Sayed scored the fourth in the 30th minute. Vital’O managed to score a goal from a counter-attack.

Newly appointed head coach Henri Michel expressed his happiness over Zamalek’s performance and the result from Sunday’s match.
