Zamalek defeat Petrojet 2-1

SUEZ (GoPharaohs.com) - Zamalek continued their rebound from a string of defeats and came out victorious against a tough Petrojet opponent in their Egyptian Premier League match at Suez stadium. With this result, Zamalek now has 36 points and remains in third place while Petrojet have 27 points.

Abd El-Halim Ali scored from a beautiful pass by Mostafa Gaafar in the 4th minute to put Zamalek up very early on. Petrojet pressured Zamalek in an attempt to equalize early. They received a penalty kick only 4 minutes after Zamalek scored but missed it. Continuing Petrojet pressure resulted in the equalizer in the 19th minute by Alaa Ibrahim.

In the second half newly appointed Zamalek head coach Henri Michel put in Gamal Hamza for Youssef Hamdy to strenghten the White’s offense. Michel then put in Junior for a final push which paid off in the 44th minute, when Junior scored Zamalek’s winning goal.

In other Egyptian League news, Al-Geish defeated Olympic 1-0 and Ittehad tied with Suez Cement 0-0 in Alexandria.
