Zamalek’s Junior does it again, Ismaily hanging on
CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - Zamalek’s Ghanian playmaker Awuley Quaye ‘Junior’ claimed two goals and one assist to his name on Friday leading a rebounding Zamalek side to yet another league victory. Zamalek defeated Al-Geish 3-0 at Cairo International Stadium in their Egyptian Premier League week 19 match.
Junior also led Zamalek to victory this past Monday against Petrojet. Junior scored both his goals in the first half and Mostafa Gaafar sealed the deal for the White Tribe in the 12th minute of the second half. Zamalek is under the leadership of newly appointed head coach Henri michel.
Zamalek remain in third place with 39 points while Al-Geish have 27 points.
Ismaily hang on
In Ismailia, the Daraweesh inched past Petrojet 2-1. Mohamed Abdul-Wahed scored in the 3rd minute of the game only to have that goal cancelled by Alaa Ibrahim’s goal for Petrojet 3 minutes later. Ismaily scored the winning goal int he 50th minute and kept their title hopes alive. They remain in second place with 41 points, 9 points behind Al-Ahly who also won today against Suez Cement.
