Al-Ahly arrive in Ethiopia for ESS faceoff

ADDIS ABABA (GoPharaohs.com) - Al-Ahly arrived early Saturday in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa for their match against Tunisian club Étoile Sportive du Sahel (ESS) on Sunday. The two teams will clash for the CAF African Super Cup title. The Ethiopian capital was chosen as the venue in recognition of Ethiopia’s role in the establishment of the CAF in 1957 along with Egypt, Sudan and South Africa. The CAF is celebrating 50 years since its inception.

Al-Ahly’s star midfielder Mohamed Abu Treika will miss the match due to injury as well as forward Osama Hosney. The offiating team is from Burkina Faso. The referee for the match is Lasina Pare. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm Cairo local time (11:00am GMT, 6:00am Eastern USA).
