Egypt, Cote d’Ivoire set for August friendly
CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - Egypt is set to take on Cote d’Ivoire in a friendly international in August, the Egyptian FA announced here Monday.
The match, being organized by a marketing firm, is set for August 22nd in Paris. The EFA recieved the proposal over the weekend and the national team’s technical staff are said to have approved.
Assistant coach Shawqy Ghareib told local sports website Filgoal.com that the only thing left was for the EFA to agree to financial terms.
The match is another in a spate of games being organized by outside marketing firms. African teams have held friendlies on neutrual ground as part of a growing trend. Previously, Egypt played South Africa and Nigeria faced Ghana in friendlies in London.
The team is set to hold a training camp March 19 in preperation for their March 24 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania.
