Egypt’s Olympic team ready for Ivory Coast
CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - Egypt’s Olympic team will host their Ivorian counterpart at Cairo International Stadium Wednesday evening for their first leg match in the second qualification round of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Egypt’s head coach Eduardo Vingada cautioned his players from Ivorian offensive pressure in the early minutes of the game.
Vingada also appealed to the Egyptian fans to come out and cheer their team on tomorrow night. Head trainer Magdy Tolba said that the players realize this is an important game and they will be playing with an offensive strategy to offload the pressure from the Pharaoh defenses.
Ahmed Magdy and Amr El-Halawani arrived in Cairo from Greece to join the Olympic team. Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneim, who plays in Egypt’s youth team, was also asked to join the team for this game.
Egypt’s away game with Cote D’Ivoire is scheduled for some time in the period of the 23rd to the 25th of March.
