Frenchman Neveu new Ismaily head coach
ISMAILIA (GoPharaohs.com) - Frenchman Patrice Neveu signed a deal with Ismaily on Thursday to take the helm of their football team as their new head coach. Neveu will coach the Daraweesh for the next three and a half years and will receive a monthly salary of $15,000 (approximately 80,000LE).
Early termination clauses in the contract state that should Neveu wish to leave before the contract expires he must pay $300,000 in early termination penalties whereas Ismaily will only pay $30,000 should they wish for an early termination. Ismaily has already paid $50,000 (approximately 270,000LE) to Neveu as an advance for his services.
Neveu was recently head coach of Guinea’s national team who participated in the 2006 African Cup of Nations in Egypt. Guinea reached the quarterfinals and lost to Senegal. The Frenchman had also coached several teams in Africa and Asia including sides from Morocco, Niger, Tunisia and China. Interim head coach Sabry Al-Minyawi is expected to remain on the team’s staff.
