Ismaily snatch last-minute draw against Al-Geish

CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - Ismaily drew with Al-Geish 2-2 in their Egyptian Premier League week 20 match. Al-Geish showed a lot of determination to defeat the Daraweesh, but they hung on, although barely.

The first half ended in a goalless draw and most exchanges between the two teams were in midfield. The second half was much faster in pace and much more eventful on the scoreboard. Al-Geish scored first in the 51st minute via Hassan Mousa. Mohamed Fadl equalized for Ismaily only 15 minutes later to further ignite the game’s firey pace.

Al-Geish gained the lead once again only 5 minutes after the equalizer after Mousa was tripped in the Ismaily penalty box. Ismaily intensified their offensive efforts which came to fruition in overtime when Ahmed Samir Farag scored to even out the scoreline at 2-2.

With this result and the difficult victory of Zamalek against Olympic, both Ismaily and Zamalek occupy second place in the standings with 42 points each.
