Last minute push puts Zamalek ahead of Qadeseya
CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - The final scoreline of 4-2 of the Arab Champions League game thursday night between Zamalek and Qadeseya of Kuwait was no indication of how close the two teams came to draw.
Al-Qadeseya scored the opener of this group A quarter-final match in the 22nd minute putting them ahead of their host early on. Zamalek managed to score the equalizer in the 38th minute and ended the half at 1-1. Abdel Halim Ali put Zamalek ahead 5 minutes into the second half and play continued on for another half hour at 2-1 until Qadeseya managed to equalize in the 80th minute.
Mostafa Gaafar joined the action in the 87th minute and scored a much-needed goal two minutes later with only seconds to spare in regulation time. Osama Hassan then sealed the deal in the first minute of stoppage time.
Zamalek now has 7 points and is in the lead of group A. Qadeseya have 4 points. Zamalek lost to Qadeseya in Kuwait in their first leg match 2-1.
