Al-Ahly & Barcelona to face off in Cairo friendly

CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - As part of their centenial celebrations, Al-Ahly officials struck a deal with their counterparts at Spanish football club Barcelona to hold a friendly match between the two sides on April 24th at Cairo International Stadium.

Al-Ahly approached Barcelona over a year ago to ensure their team’s availability. According to the agreement, Barcelona will play with their complete starting lineup. Barcelona’s Board of Directors will also attend the match in Cairo.

Sponsors of Al-Ahly’s centenial celebrations will cover the cost of the game. Al-Ahly will pay for Barcelona’s travel and living arrangements, however.

Ahly officials said that tickets will be made available two to three weeks ahead of the game. The match is scheduled for April 24th at 8:00pm Cairo local time.
