Ismaily decimate Ajeseia 6-1

March 19, 2007

ISMAILIA (GoPharaohs.com) - Ismaily did not give their opponents Ajeseia of Madagascar a ray of hope to advance to the round of 16 of the CAF Confederation Cup. Ismaily pounded Ajeseia with six goals while the Madagascar champs only managed to answer the onslaught with a single goal.

Omar Gamal, Mohamed Mohsen Abu Greisha and Sayed Moawad scored the 6 goals with two goals a piece. Omar Gamal scored first in the 14th minute of the first half followed by Abu Greisha in the 29th and 41st. Moawad ended the first half with Ismaily’s fourth goal in the 43rd minute. Omar Gamal scored his second in the 82nd minute and Moawad scored his second only three minutes later. Ajeseia scored their goal in the 87th minute.

Ismaily head coach Patric Neveu used the 4-4-2 strategy which seemed to work quite well given the scoreline and the numerous scoring opportunities that did not result in more goals. Neveu is happy with his squad saying that Ismaily has a lot of talented players, but he cautioned that they still lack experience. Building up this experience will eventually allow Ismaily to perfect the 4-4-2 strategy moving forward, says Neveu.
