Ismaily heads to Zambia, 10 players unable to participate

April 16, 2007

ISMAILIA (GoPharaohs.com) - Ismaily will head to Zambia on Monday to face off against Zambia’s champions Green Buffaloes in the second-leg match of the round of 16 of the African Confederation Cup. Ten of Ismaily’s players will be unable to participate in the action due to injury, suspensions and military duties.

Ismaily’s staff headed by Frenchman Patric Neveu will try to fill the gaps with players from Ismaily’s youth pool. One problem in particular that the team faces is the suspension of goalkeeper Amer Shafee which leaves the team with only two goalkeepers in the lineup; Mohamed Sobhy and Mohamed Fathy.

Amr Samir and Ahmed Samir are missing due to military duty and Mohamed Abdel-Wahed is the latest in the injured list.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, April 21st.
