Petrojet spoil early Ahly league title celebrations
SUEZ (GoPharaohs.com) - In their Egyptian Premier League week 26 match, Petrojet and Al-Ahly drew 2-2. Al-Ahly had been looking for a victory against Petrojet to secure their 100th league title and give themselves an early break from the league action.
All seemed to be going according to plan for Al-Ahly when returning star Mohamed Abu Treka scored their first goal only two minutes into the game. Abu Treika went on to miss a penalty 11 minutes later which could have given Al-Ahly a more comfortable lead.
After the surprise first goal, Petrojet got their act together and scored the equalizer in the 28th minute via former Ahly striker Alaa Ibrahim. In the second half, Petrojet did the unexpected responded to Treika’s early goal with one of their own in the first minute of the second half via Mohamed Kofi.
Osama Hosney saved Al-Ahly with a last minute equalizer in the 3rd minute of a 7 minute injury time. With this result, Al-Ahly has 67 points and Petrojet has 33.
