Zamalek draws with Al-Faisaly 0-0
AMMAN (GoPharaohs.com) - Zamalek made their path to the finals of the Arab Champions League and the million dollar prize much easier by drawing 0-0 away from their home turf with Al-Faisaly of Jordan.
The match was the first-leg of the semi-finals. Zamalek played with a balanced strategy between offense and defense. Pressure from Al-Faisaly kept Zamalek on the defensive for most of the second half. Inaccuracy from the Jordanians and some skillful goalkeeping from Zamalek’s Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed kept the scoreline at 0-0 after the first half.
Al-Faisaly stepped up the offense in the second half only to open up their defenses and give Zamalek the opportunity to exchange attacks. The two sides stood up to the others offensive attempts and the match ended 0-0.
The draw in Amman makes Zamalek’s task in Cairo much easier. They are scheduled to play the second-leg match later this month.
