Al-Ahly 24th, Zamalek 201st in IFFHS ranking
CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - In IFFHS’s (International Federation of Football History & Statistics) aggregate club rankings including the latest month of April, Al-Ahly dropped two positions to 24th since the previous ranking. Zamalek on the other hand moved up a few spots to 201st.
Al-Ahly has maintained their position as the top club in Africa and the Arab world for 12 straight months, leaving a huge gap between them and the second African or Arab club E.S.S. of Tunisia, who occupy the 43rd position.
Al-Ahly’s mediocre performance in April resulted in the slip in position. They played four matches, two of which they drew. The friendly game against Barcelona in which Al-Ahly lost 4-0 did not count in calculating the ranking.
Ismaily soared 69 places to end up at 216 for the April ranking.
