Al-Ahly defeats Petrojet in Egyptian Cup

CAIRO (GoPharaohs.com) - Al-Ahly became the second team to make it to the quarter finals of the Egyptian Cup after defeating Petrojet 1-0 at Cairo International Stadium.

Flavio scored the only goal for Al-Ahly in the 24th minute through a powerful header from a corner kick. The two teams played some fast-paced football in the first half, at times exchanging attacks. Petrojet could not convert from the few chances they had in front of Al-Ahly’s goal which was guarded by Amir Abdel-Hamid.

The second half was a bit slower as both teams seemed a bit more cautious. Most of the action remained in the midfield with no conversions from either side.

Zamalek was the first club to advance to the quarter finals after whipping Bani Sweif 9-0 the day before.
